The Office That Grew Up
How Change Created a Space for More Than Therapy
If you read my last post, you know The Therapy Office has been through a season of major change. And when I say major, I mean a lot of dust and a lot of runs to the dumpster.
The kind of dust that gets in your hair, your lungs, and your soul. The kind of cleaning where you ask yourself, how did I even have this much stuff?
But after the sorting, hauling, and organizing came something new. The office feels lighter now, like it’s been reset for a new adventure.
When The Therapy Office started, I wanted it to be a place for connection. Somewhere that felt safe and human for the people doing hard, emotional work every day. It started with therapists, because that’s who I knew. But it’s grown beyond that now.
This space isn’t just for therapists anymore. It’s becoming something bigger, a home for professionals who care deeply about what they do, no matter their field. Coaches, educators, advocates, dietitians, bodyworkers, and more! The people who hold others up while trying to build something of their own.
I like to call it a multi-disciplinary community, but really, it’s just a bunch of good humans doing meaningful work. Everyone brings their own energy, their own business, their own sense of purpose. And that’s what makes it beautiful.
The difference now is that each person who joins The Therapy Office is building their business. I’m not here to dictate how they do their work. I’m here to offer a space where they don’t have to do it alone.
It’s easier to create something sustainable when you’re surrounded by people who get it… people who are figuring it out right alongside you.
I used to think that not failing meant pushing through, no matter how bad it hurt. That if I just worked harder, I could make things feel right again. But the truth is, that kind of hustle is just survival dressed up as success.
If y’all have read my fun facts, you KNOW that last summer my husband got me hooked on Big Brother. So, let me do a little metaphor for the people in the back.
Running my group practice was like watching Rachel Riley do the Mastermind’s hamster wheel last season. Girl, you know it’s over! Why are you still trying? Just go to the jury house!
And there I was, doing the same thing! Trying to prove myself, trying to fix what wasn’t meant to be fixed. Beating myself up for no reason.
But now? I’m done with that. It’s not trending anymore. The imposter monster is on vacation! It’s time to take a step back, breathe, and come together.
The Therapy Office grew up. It’s no longer about running faster or chasing validation. It’s about creating a place where people can land, build, and rest. If you don’t feel like you can cry between a session in this office and be a human, then I’m not doing my job right.
As P!NK once said, “Raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways!” Here’s to change that doesn’t destroy us, but rebuilds us. To spaces that hold the humans who hold everyone else.
And if you’ve been looking for a space like that, you’re welcome here.
Until next time,
Becca Ferguson, LPC
