Meet Robert Stubbs
Licensed Professional Counselor
“I love working with the curious, impulsive, chaotic, marginalized, disenfranchised, downtrodden castaways that choose to go where there is no path and instead, leave a trail.”
Robert Stubbs, LPC
Hey there, I’m Robert Stubbs, your empathetic guide on the journey to self-discovery and fulfillment. I practice from a client-centered approach, fostering authenticity, warmth, and unconditional positive regard in every session. I’m trained in EMDR, with active pursuits for Grief Counselor certification, my focus is on helping young adults and college-age individuals (18 and up) navigate the complexities of life.
My clients are often seekers of love, happiness, and respect. I thrive working with curious, impulsive, chaotic, and marginalized humans who choose to blaze their own trails. I believe in the transformative power of happiness, joy, and meaning, guiding individuals to discover, create, and nurture these aspects in their lives. Together, we challenge perspectives, embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth, and foster balance through individual perseverance.
Beyond therapy, my interests include exploring the outdoors, gardening, cooking, and enjoying live performances. Life, to me, is a precious chance for exploration and shared experiences. Let's craft a narrative of joy, laughter, and meaningful connections, ensuring that at the end of the road, our stories are filled with good times and cherished companions.
How Can I Help You?
-
Ready to break free from the screen and connect face-to-face? In-person counseling with me is a safe space where we can dive into your journey together. Whether you're seeking support for life's challenges or looking to explore new paths, our sessions will be a judgment-free zone where authenticity and growth take center stage.

Navigating loss is tough, but you don't have to do it alone. Grief counseling with me is a journey of understanding and healing. Together, we'll explore your unique experience of loss, honoring the past while paving the way for a more hopeful tomorrow. Whether you're grieving a loved one, a relationship, or a phase of life, my goal is to provide compassionate support and help you find your way through the process.

Ever feel like past experiences are holding you back? EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is not just a therapy acronym—it's a game-changer. Through this evidence-based approach, we'll use bilateral stimulation to reprocess memories, reducing their emotional weight. Let's unlock your potential for healing and resilience together, creating a path towards a brighter, more balanced future.

I work with young adults and college students who feel overwhelmed by all the expectations — from family, school, relationships, or just figuring out what’s next. I know how easy it is to feel stuck between “who I should be” and “who I actually am.”
In our sessions, you won’t get lectures or judgment. Instead, you’ll find a space to untangle your thoughts, talk things through at your own pace, and build confidence in making choices that feel true to you.
If you’re feeling anxious, questioning your identity, struggling with relationships, or just trying to make sense of life right now, I’d be honored to help you sort it out.
Experience
I’ve been working in the mental health field for 12 years and licensed as a therapist for 8 years. I know how important it is to have someone in your corner that gets it and works hard to understand your concerns. With my experience and your story, it’s us against the world!
Young Adult Support
How many people in your life are telling you to “pull yourself up by your bootstraps”? Yeahhh, well, I’m not like that. I know being a young adult is tough stuff and I want to help you truly understand what’s getting in the way of you finding what’s going to help you thrive!
Meat and Potatoes
I’m not going to lie, therapy is TOUGH. We’re going to explore some of the most complicated and challenging thoughts you might have. It’s my job to get down to the nitty gritty of it all, or as I like to call it, the meat and potatoes! Let’s do it!
