Help for Helpers in Northwest Arkansas

Being a helper is hard work. You’re hearing difficult stories and guiding people towards freedom from continued suffering and pain. You tell your clients to hand over their burdens so they don’t have to carry it anymore. It’s making you believe that their trauma, pain, anxiety, and depression has become a part of you. Then you realize that it IS a part of you.

You’re not just carrying it anymore, you’re grasping on to it to disguise your own trauma. You know that you’re feeling the stress pile on, but you don’t feel safe talking about it and you’ve worked to convince yourself that you don’t have the time to confront it either.

That’s where I come in.

Hey there, I’m Becca Ferguson, Licensed Professional Counselor and CEO of The Therapy Office in Springdale, Arkansas. I used to convince myself to bury my trauma. I believed in the stigma that I worked so hard to break with my clients. As I told my clients to own their story, I realized that I was scared to tell my own.

I know it’s uncomfortable. As helpers, we feel like we have to have it all together in our practice. We fear that telling our story will make other professionals judge us, isolating our practice and losing the trust for referrals.

I have lived that fear before and now I actively work to provide a space for therapists where they don’t have to worry about judgement and isolation.

It’s time to take care of yourself.

There are a lot of barriers that keep you from seeking healing from your own trauma.

  • You convince yourself that you don’t have time and continue to overbook yourself with clients

  • You feel shame for not being a living example of a healed helper

  • You doubt your abilities and feel like a fraud for not addressing your own healing

  • You’re afraid that opening up your wounds will keep you from being a productive therapist

I’ve been in your shoes and I know how scary it is to open up to a complete stranger about your struggles. It’s my goal to break them all down and give you a space to be unapologetically you.

Heal on Your Own Time

Through Accelerated Resolution Therapy, we can resolve the negative thought patterns, physical sensations, and frustrations that you have in your life and career. Together we will

  • Eliminate time constraints for healing

  • Help you feel confident in your life and career

  • Discuss and process the trauma that keeps you from connecting with people on a humanistic level

  • Say goodbye to imposter syndrome and give you the tools you need to feel true transformation

Most people who experience Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) say that the sensations and thoughts that were holding them back are now a distant memory, giving them the space to feel connected to themselves again.

What is an Intensive?

In traditional one hour therapy sessions, we only get 30-40 minutes of deep healing work until it’s time to wrap things up. With an intensive, we get an uninterrupted 3-hour block solely focused on your healing journey.

Intensives allow yourself time to close the door on trauma, anxiety, and depression symptoms that have haunted you for years.

In an intensive we can work on:

  • Painful childhood experiences

  • Religious trauma and abuse

  • Letting go of past romantic relationships

  • Reframing situations that are overstimulating or overwhelming

  • Behaviors that keep you from starting the healing journey and more!

Imagine all the progress that you can make in an extended time block—helping you move forward so you can be there for yourself and your clients.

What does an ART Intensive Include?

  • Pre-Intensive Consultation

Once you fill out the intensive application, We’ll find a time for a 15 minute phone chat and see if ART is the best fit for you! During that consultation, we’ll schedule your session.

  • Building the Story

During ART, we’ll dive deep into a specific event, sensation, or experience. At the beginning of our session, we’ll create the script for the story so you know what to expect during the reprocessing.

  • Process it Out

After we build the story, we’ll work on processing out the sensations and images using bilateral eye movements. The eye movements will help with the imagery of the scene. With the extended time, we’ll be able to address and process out the negative sensations and images.

  • Peaceful person after accelerated resolution therapy in arkansas

    Finding Peace

After the reprocessing, we’ll take time to debrief the experience and reflect on your new perspectives, relief, and transformation. We’ll also discuss what’s next for continued growth and healing
